Amou Haji was an Iranian man who gained worldwide attention for his extraordinary and unconventional lifestyle. He lived alone in a small village in Fars Province, Iran, spending most of his life isolated from society. Because of his preference for solitude, he became widely known as a hermit.

What made Amou Haji especially famous was his refusal to bathe for more than 60 years. ๐ŸšฟโŒ He believed that using soap and water would make him sick, so he avoided bathing from around 1957 until 2022. This unusual habit attracted curiosity and media attention from around the world. ๐ŸŒ

He survived in extremely harsh conditions and lived a very unusual lifestyle. He often ate animals that were already dead and partially decayed, especially porcupines. ๐Ÿฆ” He also drank water from dirty puddles using old rusty cans. ๐Ÿฅค Instead of tobacco, he reportedly smoked dried animal dung through a pipe. ๐Ÿšฌ His way of life shocked many people because it was so different from normal living conditions. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Villagers frequently tried to help him and encouraged him to bathe, but he consistently refused. ๐Ÿค On one occasion, when some people attempted to take him to a river for a bath, he reportedly jumped out of a moving vehicle to escape. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ

After decades without bathing, Amou Haji eventually agreed to wash himself for the first time in many years. ๐Ÿšฟ Sadly, only a few months later, he passed away in 2022 at the age of 94. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ While some people connected his death to the bath, there is no scientific evidence to support that claim. Most likely, he died naturally due to old age.
