Back in 2009, during a TED Talk on malaria, Bill Gates did something unforgettable — he opened a jar and released a few mosquitoes into the audience, saying:
“There’s no reason only poor people should have the experience.”
😳 Everyone froze for a moment — until he clarified that the mosquitoes weren’t carrying malaria. It was his way of making a bold point about how easily the world ignores diseases that only affect the poor.
A few harmless mosquitoes… but a powerful message that still hits hard today.
