The internet has made life easy. With just one click, you can copy a nice photo, repost a funny video, or even use someone’s professional picture to promote your own work but my people, let me tell you the truth using another person’s picture or video without permission can land you in serious legal wahala.
Here are some of the risks:
✅ Copyright Infringement Pictures and videos are intellectual property. If you use them without permission, the owner can sue you for damages.
✅ Defamation If you post someone’s picture or video in a way that spoils their reputation, even jokingly, they can drag you to court.
✅ Privacy Violation Not everyone wants their face or private moments online. Sharing without consent can be seen as an invasion of privacy.
✅ Commercial Misuse Using someone’s photo or video to promote your business without permission can get you into big trouble.
💡 Pepper soup wisdom: Before you post or use anyone’s content, ask for permission or use platforms that provide free-to-use images/videos with proper licenses. Better to be safe than sorry because one careless upload can cost you money and peace of mind.
