Children, Phones, And Radiation Waves

Loading

Research has shown that children absorb
significantly more radiofrequency (RF) energy from mobile phones compared to adults. Because their skulls are thinner and their brains are still developing, RF waves penetrate more deeply. A 2011 study in Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine found that children may absorb nearly twice as much radiation in brain tissue and up to 10 times more in bone marrow than adults. A 2018 review in Environmental Research further confirmed that under identical conditions, children’s brains take in about 50–60% more RF energy.

While major health agencies like the National Cancer Institute note that studies have not proven a direct link between phone use and brain cancer, the higher absorption in children remains a concern. Experts recommend precautionary measures: using speaker mode, limiting call times, and keeping phones away from the head. These small steps can help reduce exposure during critical stages of growth while long-term research continues.
